Other than popcorn, chips are best eaten as snacks when you’re watching a movie at the theatres, or even in the comfort of your own home. And you know what’s the best thing about chips? They come in different flavours, some that you never thought existed!
However, a UK vlogger and YouTuber, Nicole, who is based in KL has recently expressed what she thinks about the flavours of chips in Malaysia – weird.
“Malaysians have very weird flavours when it comes to potato chips.”
At a mall in KL, Nicole was going through the flavours of chips that were displayed on the racks, which consisted of salted egg, hot chilli squid, roast chicken dance, black truffle, and Tom Yam.
In the caption of her TikTok post for the video, Nicole said that the only flavour needed for chips is salt & pepper.
“We’re not weird, just cultured”
While salt & pepper may be enough for some chip lovers, many Malaysians have taken the opportunity to suggest Nicole try the flavours that are available in our country. Some have also explained that they prefer to have a variety of choices in the snack.
“Try that salted egg flavour and you’ll understand addiction.”
Other netizens explained why we have multiple flavours in chips, and the snack is not just meant for a single flavour.
