Oh no!

At 2.30am on Monday morning (13 May), two youths have reportedly been killed in a fatal car accident that happened along Cecil Street Ghaut in Penang. According to NST, the victims have been identified as Andy Meyrick from Cheras and Jusse D. Dolisip from Kota Marudu, Sabah. They were 25 and 29 years old respectively.

It was reported that the car they were travelling in had skidded before turning turtle; it then rammed into a bus stop at Gat Lebuh Cecil. Firemen from the Beach Street and Perak Road fire stations were then immediately dispatched to the scene and there were sightings of a Proton Persona with all four wheels facing upwards while the two victims were pinned to their seats, said Lebuh Pantai Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Saiful Bahri Abdul Kadir.

Rescue efforts were also reportedly carried out. However, a medical assistant from Penang hospital later pronounced the two victims dead at the scene.

It was not reported where the youths were heading to or coming back from. As of now, the cause of the accident is still being investigated by local police.

Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims. May the souls of the victims rest in peace.
