An elderly man and a woman took on the job of “transporters” to move over RM100,000 worth of drugs, all for the promise of big payouts.
However, their operation came to a crashing halt when they got caught with over three kilograms of syabu during a raid at Api-Api Centre on February 27, as reported by Sinar Harian.

The seized drugs were worth over RM100k
Kota Kinabalu Police Chief, Kasim Muda, said the arrests and drug seizures came from intel gathered by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) at Kota Kinabalu IPD, working with IPD Penampang.
During the raid, the police spotted the 25-year-old woman holding a paper bag in front of a car driven by the 70-year-old man.
“Inside the bag, officers found 1,048.02 grams of syabu, which then led to another bust of 2,110.03 grams at a house in Penampang,” he said.
He went on to explain that the confiscated syabu were 3,158.05 grams in total and valued at approximately RM101,000. That amount of drugs could’ve supplied more than 15,000 addicts in the area.

Both suspects were unemployed
Further checks showed that the female suspect tested positive for drugs, and both were unemployed.
He added that the two were acquaintances who worked as transporters, picking up drugs from a courier that was believed to have been sent from Johor before repackaging them into smaller packs for distribution.
“They’ve allegedly been doing this since last year, making around RM2,000 to RM3,000 per kilogram. This time, their payout went up to RM6,000. Both have been remanded. We also seized a Proton Satria, rings, watches, and RM1,066 in cash,” he said.
Kasim added that they suspect a syndicate is behind this, but investigations are ongoing.
