On May 28, a horrific accident took place at KM433.8 on the North-South Expressway near Kuala Kubu Baru, which cost the life of a three-month-old baby, MMO reported.

A witness named Kugan Kathegesen who had the incident recorded on his dash-cam uploaded the footage to Facebook. The horrifying post garnered over 11.2k shares in less than 24 hours!

From the video, the white Perodua Axia that was driven by Shahril Salleh, 32, was cruising on the second lane while a Proton was approaching from behind.

For unknown reasons, the Proton driven by S. Nishanty, 27, swerved into the left lane and almost hit the Perodua.

Desperate to avoid collision, the Proton driver made a hard right turn, sending the car spinning out of control. Unfortunately, the Perodua was hit and crashed into the drain while the Proton crashed onto the road barrier.

Unfortunately, the huge impact resulted in Shahril’s wife, Rafnah Mongudancgal, 35, and his three-month-old baby, Aril Rizqin Redza getting thrown out of the car, said Hulu Selangor police chief Supt R. Supramaniam.

However, according to the witness, the baby wasn’t thrown out of the car as reported. In fact, he was the one who pulled open the car door and retrieved the baby who was stuck inside the car.

PLUS auxiliary police were nearby and they called for the ambulance, which arrived 30 minutes later. Meanwhile, the police arrived 50 minutes later after the accident.

Sadly, the baby was pronounced dead at the Sungai Buloh Hospital at 2.30pm while the mother and her two other sons sustained minor injuries. The case is now being investigated under Section 41 (1) Road Transport Act.

It really is unfortunate how a life is lost due to the negligence or recklessness of other drivers. The team at World Of Buzz would like to extend our sincere condolences to the victim’s family.
