When it comes down to driving handicapped passengers, a conventional car tends to create more problems than it solves. This is especially true of those who are physically impaired and require mobility aids such as crutches, strollers, or even wheelchairs. Which is why automobile companies have worked towards catering this extremely niche market in creating vehicles with passenger accessibility options to help these people travel in comfort.

The toyota alphard luxury mpv comes with accessibility options like this to help handicapped passengers.

But bear in mind, cars equipped with these mobility facilities often require extensive modifications, and are pretty expensive. One such example is Toyota’s Alphard, which often costs upwards of RM300,000 for one with handicapped accessibility options. Even normal cars who are sent to workshops to have these modifications done don’t come cheap either!

Despite that, one Johor man’s determination to help make every journey for his father truly comfortable between trips to the hospital didn’t stop at the hefty cost of modifying his humble Perodua Myvi.

This handicap-friendly chair allows for the owner’s father to get in and out of his myvi more easily.

According to automotive workshop Syah Autoparts Kempas Utama, the customer in question had just bought an accessibility chair made for the Japanese market Toyota Passo (which is the parent car of our own Perodua Myvi) and requested that it be fitted to his car.

The reason? He wanted to make sure that his father would be able to enjoy riding in his car comfortably during his trips to and from hospital, as he faced difficulties with mobility. The customisable option would allow for the front passenger seat to swing down from inside the car, allowing for his father to more easily sit in place before being lifted into the cabin.

The video, which has since gone viral over Malaysian social media, has left many Malaysians intrigued about the possibility of equipping their own personal cars with these incredible mobility accessibility options.

Which goes to show that when it comes to the Perodua Myvi, the skies really are the limit with what you can do with it! Myvi boleh!
