Such is the popularity of the infamous One Punch Man workout challenge, that even those who aren’t fans of the titular anime have heard about its intensity and near-impossible routine. Well, this man from Singapore bravely took on the challenge, and 30 days later, he’s got the astounding results to show for it.
Sean Seah, a 38-year-old man from Singapore had just finished Chinese New Year celebrations and three months of travelling without dieting and exercising, when he decided that it was time to knock his body back into shape. Determined to see results, he committed to the One Punch Man routine, and took it a step further by filming his progress. At the time of writing, his Facebook video has already amassed 232,000 views!
Here’s what Sean looked like at the start of the challenge, during which he weighed 70kg and had a body age of 40. He also had a high visceral fat rating of 10, which resulted in a pot belly.
Now, the crazy thing about the One Punch Man challenge is that at the height of the challenge, you have to complete 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and – this is the most excruciating of all – a 10km run, every day for a week, in order to transform yourself from an average-bodied person, into a superhero. Or, at least that’s what Saitama, the comic’s protagonist promises.
Fortunately, Sean wisely eased himself into the workout by starting at Level 5, which includes 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, 50 squats and a 5km run. That’s probably already quite the eyebrow-raising routine for most of us, but we’re looking at a very determined man here!
Cut to seven days later, and Sean had already lost 2.8kg, as well as managing to reduce his visceral fat rating and body age!
The progress seemed to be on the rise, that is, until Day 17 happened. At that point, Sean conceded that he had hit a plateau and the only way to overcome it was to up the stakes. Cue Level 7.
After 5 days of doing 70 push-ups, 70 sit-ups, 70 squats, and a 7km run, Sean decided to push it to Level 9 on Day 22, and finally, Level 10 on Day 23. A week later, the challenge came to an end, and it was time for Sean to do the much-anticipated before and after.
The transformation is amazing, to say the least! Sean had not only lost 5kg, but decreased his body age to 36 and decreased his visceral fat rating to 8.5.
This is how Sean plans to maintain his enviable figure:
“So, what happens after 30 days? I decided that I will not be running every single day, I’ll be doing it three to four times a week instead, and I’ll be adding a gym routine into it.”
He added that he will also be uploading videos tracking his progress 30, 60 and 90 days from now! We’ll be tuning in for sure! In the meantime, you can watch the full video here.

Now you might be wondering, exercising isn’t all there is to weight loss. When asked about his eating habits, Sean said that although he “eats really normal”, he does avoid carbs and sugars, and tries not to snack as well.
As Sean’s video went viral, netizens chipped in with all sorts of comments, some inspiring, some doubtful, and others which were just downright hilarious.
One thing’s for sure: you’d need to have god-like levels of persistence and willpower to complete such a challenge! Now please excuse us while we go look for our running shoes…
