WOB: First off, massive congratulations! What was the first thing that ran through your mind when they announced your name as the winner?

DJ SVGGY: Thank you so much! Honestly, I was surprised when I heard my name as the winner. I was jumping on stage, filled with pure joy and excitement. Having so many cameras pointing in my direction made me feel like I was in a movie or something.

The first thing that came to my mind? It felt like all the late nights, the challenges, and the sacrifices have finally paid off.

WOB: Any ideas on what you’re planning to do with the RM100,000 in prizes, especially the RM30,000 in cash?

DJ SVGGY: One of the prizes I’m especially happy about is the latest model of a Pioneer DJ controller, which will definitely help improve my DJ skills. The RM30,000 cash, I’d like to invest a portion of it to help secure my future — maybe put it into savings or small investments.

WOB: What’s the most powerful lesson you learned or one piece of advice from your mentors that stuck with you throughout the Swift Talent Quest?

DJ SVGGY: I would say keep things simple and master it by structure. I wouldn’t say I am a very skilled DJ, but I have my strengths, which is piano knowledge. If you watch my performances, I craft my performance based on what I am capable of, which is tone-playing.

WOB: What would you say was the most challenging part of the competition, and how did you overcome it?

DJ SVGGY: One of the biggest challenges for me is stage fright. It can be tough to perform in front of such a large crowd, which is why I always wear my iconic shaded glasses on big stages — they help me block out distractions and concentrate on my performance.

WOB: Finally, if you could give one piece of advice to aspiring DJs hoping to follow in your footsteps, what would it be?

DJ SVGGY: My best piece of advice would be: It’s never about what you can do — it’s about what you want to do. Stay hungry, keep evolving, and most importantly, always believe in your vision.

As DJ SVGGY claimed her spotlight, she remained grounded and grateful, recognising the many who supported her journey to the top, including DJs PlaygroundMalaysia’s leading DJ academy, officially recognised by AlphaTheta/Pioneer DJ who have been instrumental in nurturing rising talent from the very beginning.

We caught up with the team to gain insight into what went on behind the decks, their collaboration with Martell Noblige, and what it takes to truly stand out in the world of DJing.

WOB: What was the driving force behind DJs Playground’s decision to collaborate with Martell Noblige for the Swift Talent Quest?

DJs Playground: Our collaboration with Martell Noblige is built on a shared passion for pushing creative boundaries and empowering the next generation of talent. Over the years, Martell Noblige has consistently championed boldness and self-expression — values that resonate deeply with us at DJs Playground, especially as a platform dedicated to nurturing aspiring DJs.

The Swift Talent Quest presents an incredible opportunity to not only celebrate musical artistry but also to give emerging talents a bigger, more meaningful stage to shine on.

WOB: Talent is one thing, but mindset is another. What qualities did DJ SVGGY have that truly set her apart beyond just her technical skills?

DJs Playground: Her consistency and strong musical background shone through in her set. We thoroughly enjoyed the composition of each round in the battle. Unlike many contestants who overextended themselves, she played to her strengths, delivering a performance that felt authentic and well-crafted. What we truly appreciated is her originality — she didn’t rely on online content for inspiration but instead brought her unique ideas to the stage.

WOB: From a mentorship perspective, what is one crucial factor that would make a DJ truly stand out in today’s competitive scene?

DJs Playground: One crucial factor that makes a DJ truly stand out in today’s competitive scene, is authenticity in sound and style. In an era where trends spread rapidly, many DJs fall into the trap of imitation. The ones who rise above the noise are those who develop a unique identity — whether through their track selection, mixing techniques, or performance energy.

WOB: Lastly, what advice would you give to future contestants looking to join the next Swift Talent Quest?

DJs Playground: Dare to be different. In a scene where many DJs play it safe, standing out requires more than just technical skills — it demands creativity, originality, and stage presence. Don’t just mix tracks; tell a story, create energy, and make the crowd feel something. Most importantly, stay true to your craft and bring your passion to the stage — because that’s what makes a champion.

A night of wild vibes, bass drops, and bold moves!

As the competition wrapped, the Martell Noblige Swift Festival turned into an all-out rager with electrifying sets from headliners like DJ Soda and Lizzy Wang. Missed it IRL? No stress — get a glimpse of the unforgettable night here:
