Most 7-year-old kids would spend their school holidays making TikToks and playing video games, but one little boy in Slim River, Perak, decided to try something different.
Muhammad Afiq Aryan Rosman decided to spend his week-long Chinese New Year holiday by taking care of his kangkung garden, which he planted in front of his house over a year ago (when he was just 6!).
Due to his diligence in cultivating and watering the kangkung plants, they’ve grown into a fertile and lively bush.
“The hot weather caused me to have to water them 7 times a day to ensure that the kangkung planted can produce satisfactory results,”
“During this holiday, my sister and I just stayed home because we were worried that the Covid-19 outbreak is still not over so a lot of my time was spent gardening,” he said.
And boy, did his time and effort pay off!
He managed to collect about 30kgs of kangkung from his front garden, which he cleaned before distributing most of it to his nearby neighbours.
“To get rid of the boredom, it is better to spend time gardening and the results can not only be eaten, but also can be distributed to neighbours,” he added.
The 7-year-old has since started planting the kangkung plants in his backyard as well. With this rate, his family would probably never have to buy veggies again!
