Often times, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) would fine or close down vendors who open stalls in places they shouldn’t or without valid licenses.
Though, it appears that they may have missed out on a vendor that is apparently causing a disturbance to the general public.
Sarah Abdullah took to her TikTok account to showcase a vendor who appears to be selling grilled corn in places he shouldn’t, as the smoke created by the grilled corn is created a nuisance to the people around.
She wrote, “I see it’s become like a night market, Kuala Lumpur City Hall.”
Initially, the vendor was stationed outside the H&M at Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur, but in another video, Sarah revealed that he apparently later moved his stall directly outside of KLCC.
Sarah, as well as others, have since questioned where DBKL has been throughout the presence of the vendor as he is not only disturbing the general public with the smoke from his grill but is also an eyesore to the location.
“The authorities sleeping ah?”
“If this isn’t curbed, later more will come and pitch tents and sell keychains, burgers, drinks and more. The authorities must take action.”
“He really is spoiling the view.”
“Clothes and headscarves will smell like smoke because of his grilling.”
While we understand the need for people to run their businesses and earn money to make a living, shouldn’t it be done in a more appropriate location?
