Recent videos circulating online show a residential unit in a Kajang apartment complex engulfed in flames.
In the footage, sparks can be seen flying from the unit, a result of the fire igniting a large quantity of firecrackers reportedly stored inside.

Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, Assistant Director of Operations at the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), confirmed the incident occurred after his department received an emergency call at 10:42 PM, according to Sinar Harian.
He added that when the team arrived at the scene 13 minutes later, they found the room containing the explosives was already 80% engulfed in flames.
“Thirteen personnel and officers, along with fire engines from the Bangi Fire and Rescue Station and backup from the Semenyih station, rushed to the scene, located 13 kilometres away,” he said.

Ahmad Mukhlis stated the fire was brought under control at 11:19 PM, with the Operations Commander reporting that firecrackers were found throughout the unit.
He added that the fire has since been fully extinguished, overhaul operations are ongoing, and fortunately, no casualties were reported.
