The God of Fortune will only bless those with a good heart. If you’re a smuggler, then you’re just looking for trouble if you’re messing with the God of Fortune. With that said, recently the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore shared on their official page that they have discovered 11,285 cartons and 7,684 packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes.
The discovery happened on January 13 (Wednesday) when the ICA managed to foil a smuggling attempt by a Malaysian-registered lorry carrying Chinese New Year-related figurines. The officers were doing their checks when they found contraband cigarettes hidden inside the God of Fortune figurines. ICA wrote,
“This method of concealment is a cause for concern as similar methods may be used by people with ill intent to smuggle security items into Singapore. The ICA will continue to conduct security checks on passengers, goods and vehicles so as to safeguard Singapore’s security.”

These smugglers are just rude for using the figurines to smuggle the contraband items. Hopefully, those behind the attempt will be punished.
