A pet owner was dragged to court by the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) after being discovered keeping two dogs without valid licences.

Taking to its Facebook page, the local council shared details regarding how it brought the owner to the Telok Datok Court over the matter.

Dogs 1 1

“An individual who kept two dogs without valid licences from MPKL was brought to the Telok Datok Court for an offence under By-Law 3(1) of the Dog Licensing and Dog Breeding Houses (Kuala Langat District Council) By-Laws 2007,” MPKL wrote.

“Based on the charge and facts of the case, the person being summoned (OKS) kept the dogs at his house in Bandar Rimbayu, 42500, Telok Panglima Garang in the Kuala Langat district in Selangor Darul Ehsan.”

The outcome of the case

Fortunately for the owner, the situation was resolved through the payment of a fine.

“The OKS applied to withdraw the summons after paying the compound to MPKL. Magistrate Puan Maslinda binti Selamat granted the application, and the summons was subsequently cancelled,” the council confirmed.

“MPKL reminds the public to always comply with existing regulations and laws so as not to be subjected to action by MPKL,” the statement added.
