The Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun found herself under fire last month for her late response to the abuse involving a 13-year-old Down Syndrome girl, Bella.
Following the meeting with TMJ 2 weeks ago to discuss further the steps to prevent similar abuse in the future, Rina Harun is now seen spending more time with Bella and other children in the children’s shelter. Just yesterday (5 May), on the 4th day of Raya, Rina Harun shared the moments together with the children.
In a Facebook post, Rina Harun said that she brought over fried rice that she had cooked earlier at home to the children’s shelter for Bella and her friends to eat. Rina also said that aside from the non-spicy fried rice, Bella also enjoyed the KFC that she bought.
“I also brought nasi impit, lemang, rendang, fried chicken, cakes and some kuih specially for Bella and her friends.”
In her post, she also took the time to express her gratitude to the staff at the children’s shelter who have been protecting and taking care of these young souls tirelessly. Rina said that the children in the shelter are well taken care of, physically & emotionally.

Thank you, Rina Harun
In the comment section, some Malaysians took the opportunity to thank Rina for her willingness in spending time with the unfortunate.
“Despite being busy for Hari Raya, Rina still prioritised Bella and even cooked for her. Rina is still concerned about them under any circumstances. May God ease everything for her.”
“Rina is always concerned about Bella even during Raya’s celebration. Thank you, Rina. Let’s pray for Bella’s justice.”
We truly hope that Rina Harun will spend more time focusing on the well being of these unfortunate children as well as other abused women & children.
