A Malaysian rider suffered serious injuries after crashing into a car door that was suddenly opened by a passenger on a highway.
After colliding with the open door, the rider fell onto the road and was subsequently struck by another motorcyclist travelling behind him.

The second motorcyclist was unable to brake in time and also fell after hitting the first rider, who was already on the ground. According to information shared in a Threads post, the accident occurred near Bulatan Kampung Pandan in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (6 February) at around 6:15 PM. The post alleged that the door was opened by a child in the car and highlighted the importance of using a child lock.

The first rider sustained a broken arm and may need to undergo surgery
The Threads user, who identified herself as the sister of the rider who crashed into the open door, said her brother broke his left arm in the accident. She added that he may require surgery.
At the time of writing, the family is still awaiting the results of the rider’s CT scan.
“He mentioned that he felt pain in his head and back,” she said in her post.

As of 8 February, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has yet to issue an official statement on the incident. The family is continuing to await the CT scan results.
