Registrations For 1.24 Million Doses Of AstraZeneca Open For Senior Citizens Today (23 May)

A total of 1,240,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine injections will be offered to senior citizens for the second round of the vaccination invitation initiative which is open for appointment bookings at 12 noon today (23 May). The Covid-19 Immunization Task Force (CITF) in a statement, as shared by Bernama, said that vaccinations will happen from June 7 to July 27 for the first dose at eight AstraZeneca Vaccine Delivery Centers (PPVAZ).

The PPVAZs involved are the SPICE Loyal Convention Center, Penang; Persada Johor International Convention Center, Johor Bahru; Borneo Convention Center Kuching, Sarawak; and Miri National Youth Skills Institute, Sarawak.

Apart from that, other PPVAZs are at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur; National University of Malaysia, Selangor; and Ideal Convention Center, Shah Alam, Selangor. The statement also mentioned,

“As announced, this booking is only open to senior citizens (60 years and above) in five states, namely Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor and Sarawak. This is one of the measures to ensure that senior citizens who belong to high-risk groups continue to be protected.”

Those who are interested can start booking at www.vaksincovid.gov.my . CITF also encourages young people to assist senior citizens in booking the vaccination appointment slot to ensure the latest rollout will be successful as well.
