Former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has retained the Penang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat for N23 Air Putih for the fourth straight term since 2008.
Lim, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan came out victorious in the contest against Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Ivan Kong and Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s (PRM) Teh Yee Cheu.
Lim contested under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) – Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, representing DAP and won the Air Putih seat with a majority of 7,923 seats. Here is the official result:
- PH – Lim Guan Eng – 8,996
- PN – Ivan Kong – 1,073
- PRM – Teh Yee Cheu – 437
Accordingly, the PH-BN coalition has already been given the mandate to form the Penang State Government after achieving a simple majority.
