Caretaker Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has officially won the Penang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat for N26 Padang Kota with a comfortable majority of 7,116 votes.
With the victory, he has officially retained the Padang Kota seat for the 5th straight term, first winning the DUN seat in 2004.
The Pakatan Harapan (PH) – Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition’s Chief Minister candidate for Penang should they win the state, Chow defeated Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) H’ng Khoon Leng who received 1,145 votes.
Chow garnered 8,261 votes and his victory in Padang Kota is one of the first official results in this year’s State Elections.
