A Polish couple was arrested in Thailand for indecent exposure after they appeared completely naked in public on 2 separate occasions.

According to a report by Thaiger, the tourists were initially spotted standing and embracing each other in the middle of a public road in Surat Thani, while completely nude, without much regard for passersby and traffic on April 29 (Tuesday).

Concerned locals called the police, who were shocked to see the couple and their bizarre actions upon their arrival.

However, it appears that the police did not take action against the couple at that point, because later the same day, they showed up at a public family beach in Village 4, again, in a naked state.

This time, police officers told the couple, identified as 27-year-old Michal and 24-year-old Claudia, that their actions were illegal under Thai law, and they were arrested after being told to cover up.

The couple was charged with ‘committing an act that is shameful in public by exposing or revealing the body, or committing other obscene acts’.

They have since been taken to the Koh Pha Ngan Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Locals are fed up!

Considering the increasing number of cases involving tourists misbehaving in Thailand, locals have lost their patience and have called for the police to crack down on disrespectful behaviour committed by visa-free visitors.

“Thailand is a country with culture and respect. This is getting out of hand. These people are treating our streets like a nudist beach,” a resident of the area shared.
