A local police officer is under hot water after a video of him interacting with a woman went viral on social media. The clip, which allegedly shows him using rude language or gestures, first popped up on TikTok before going viral on Instagram.
Ampang Jaya police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said the whole thing came to light when the head of the Pandan Indah police station stumbled upon the 90-second video around 5 pm yesterday.

According to Azam, the officer in the video has already been identified and pulled from active duty while investigations are ongoing.
âWeâre also running an internal disciplinary check on top of the main investigation,â he added.
Authorities are treating the case seriously. Itâs being looked into under two laws, one for insulting someoneâs modesty (Section 509 of the Penal Code), and another for misuse of online platforms (Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998). If found guilty, the officer could face jail time, a fine, or both.

Azam is urging anyone involved in the video or anyone who knows more about what happened to come forward and help with the investigation.
You can reach out to the Ampang Jaya police at 03-42897222 or contact the investigating officer, ASP Hida Hayati.
In the video, a woman accused him of inviting her to check into a hotel. He could also be heard asking her where she was staying and also invited her to hang out at his place.
She initially intended to lodge a police report but changed her mind after allegedly being dismissed by the authorities.
âThe police accused me of always going to clubs, so they said itâs normal for men to invite me to check in. It pissed me off.â
âI left the station immediately. The next time we meet someone like this, letâs just make it viral,â she stated.
