Back in the day, wedding dinner receptions were more straightforward and predictable. Often, you’ll be able to expect that the bride will walk down the aisle, dinner will be served, the cake will be cut and there’ll be a champagne toast.
However, these days, wedding dinner receptions are less traditional and more fun! People have come up with many different things to do during the reception to make it more exciting like dance performances by the bride and groom, speeches by friends, video montages of the couple’s love stories and so on.
One type of performance that is also becoming more common but can be hard to do right is rapping! Yesterday, Malaysian content creator Vikneswaran Veerasundar or more popularly known as Vikar World shared on his TikTok account a video of him rapping at his best friend’s wedding.
People loved the performance so much that the video has gained more than 100,000 views in just 16 hours!
The lyrics
Vikneswaran started his rap by sharing that he’s been best friends with the bride, Brenda, since they met in high school.
She was popular, but “somehow, somewhat, (they) became friends. The kinda friendship that will last till the end.”
Then, he gave Brenda’s man his stamp of approval. “That’s where she met this guy called Jit. Everybody knew, ‘Ooop, he’s legit!'”
Finally, he delivered his best lyric which made everyone at the reception and the comments go crazy.
He rapped, “Years of dating but my man succeed. Sitting next to her ready to plant his seed.”
Netizens are entertained
In the comments, netizens were amused at how Vikneswaran used the phrase, “plant his seed.”
“Aunty wasn’t too amused about Jit planting his seed.”
