An image of an Indian lady grieving over her kacang that was left all over the road has torn Malaysians into a huge debate. The incident was said to have occurred outside Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB).

Inconsistent reporting from several media portals has left Malaysians confused as to what actually went down.

Without any context, the image seem as if police officers were shooing her away from selling her goods at the roadside. In a moment of chaos, the kacangs were spilt while the policemen just stood by and watched.

There are some who even rumoured that the officers were the culprits who threw her kacang on the ground.

Many offered their sympathies and expressed their outrage as to why the policemen wanted to disturb an innocent lady who work hard to earn a living.

However, alleged eyewitness claimed that that wasn’t the case. In fact, it was the lady herself who threw her items as an act of protest when she was asked to move from her spot because she was obstructing traffic flow.

Perak Today posted a video of MBI releasing their statement for this incident:

In the video, officials denied any alleged physicality done by the police officers and that having her goods thrown on the floor was a mere rumour.
