A recent post has left many Malaysians in stitches after a female doctor surprised her mother on her birthday.
In a Threads post, Dr Priya (@priyasilvanathan) shared how she decided to make seri muka instead of a traditional birthday cake for her mother’s special day.

Dr Priya also mentioned that she followed the seri muka recipe exactly, and said it was her first time making it.
“It’s my mom’s birthday. I decided to make seri muka (for the first time) instead of a cake. Followed the recipe to a T,” the post read.
After finishing the dessert, she served it to her mother. Her mum took a bite and asked why it tasted like grass.
To make things even funnier, Dr Priya later revealed that she may have accidentally picked the wrong plant instead of pandan leaves.
“Oh my goodness, I think I picked lalang (cogon grass) instead of pandan. Nobody, I mean nobody, talks to me today,” she wrote.
Dr Priya is from Pinnacle Clinic Melaka, which provides services focusing on hair restoration and aesthetic treatments.
