A recent video has been making the rounds online, showing a roadside durian vendor believed to be near Bulatan Chempaka in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
In the video, which has since been widely shared across social media, the vendor can be seen putting up a misleading sign that reads, “Free Durian”.

Misleading the public
However, a closer look at the sign reveals that while the words “Free Durian” are written in large lettering, a smaller line underneath reads:
“Free durian to smell only. If you want to take the fruit, you have to pay.”

KPDN urged to investigate the durian vendor
In the text embedded in the viral video, the poster called on the Kelantan branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) to monitor the vendor for misleading the public.
“Selling is fine, but this way of attracting customers isn’t very appropriate,” the individual said.
At the time of writing, KPDN has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
