Suspect has since been arrested

According to Berita Harian, Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Sarudin Samah said the victim was riding to work in Kuala Lumpur when he honked at another motorcyclist who was believed to be blocking his way.

“However, the suspect, a 43-year-old local man, became upset and stopped by the roadside before slashing the victim with a meat cleaver,” he said.

The suspect has since been arrested to assist in investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon. If convicted under the provision, the suspect may face up to 10 years in prison, a fine, or whipping.
