“Perfectly executed” – 1 Malaysia Lion Dance Performance in Puchong Receives Major Praise from M’sians

Chinese New Year means a huge thing for the Chinese community around the world, but that does not mean people of other races can’t join in the festive season. With the celebration less than two weeks away, lion dance performances have started to become a huge part of ceremonies in malls and workplaces.

The lion dance is a must, and a recent lion dance performance at Puchong caught the attention of many Malaysians at the scene, as well as on social media. It’s not every day that we get to see a multi-racial lion dance performance. In the video below, we can see a Malay girl kickstart the performance by beating on the drum, followed by other Chinese and Indian performers playing the cymbals.

The 3-minute-long clip features performers from Yong Jun Bukit Beruntung, and the clip was shared by the Facebook page Liondoncefreak. At the time of writing, the video has gained more than 19,000 likes and more than 3,700 shares, prompting many proud Malaysians to comment and praise the exceptional performers.
