The actions of two young brothers in Kelantan touched the heart of a Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officer after they were seen giving him a respectful salute.
For the past three months, Corporal Wan Mohd Faizal Wan Azman from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) of the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters had noticed the two boys waiting by the roadside in Kampung Meranti every time they heard the sound of his escort motorcycle.

Last Sunday (28 December), the two boys were spotted saluting him in the drizzle, which prompted the 40-year-old to finally stop and greet them for the first time.
“Usually, they come out around 5 to 6 PM, and every time I pass by, they stand and salute. I had noticed them for a long time, but I never stopped because of safety concerns and standard procedures,” he told Sinar Harian.
He added that the children seemed to recognise the sound of his motorcycle (a PDRM-owned Honda ST 1300) used when escorting the official vehicle of Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.

Wan Mohd Faizal went on to say that after escorting the Kelantan Menteri Besar back to his home in the same village, his schedule was lighter than usual, giving him the chance to stop and interact with the children.
“Even in the drizzle, the two brothers waited and saluted. I was deeply moved by their dedication, so I decided to stop for a moment and greet them,” he said.
