The victim allegedly tried to overtake a vehicle

Amiruddien said that when the victim got to his location, he allegedly tried to overtake a vehicle with an unclear registration number in front of him.

However, things took a turn when he ended up crashing into a lorry driven by a 32-year-old man coming from the opposite direction.

“The accident involved an officer from Tanjung Ipoh Police Station, Kuala Pilah, who was riding a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle from Simpang Renggam to the police station quarters.”

He was declared dead at the scene

Amiruddien went on to say that the lorry driver had reportedly tried to avoid the crash but still ended up hitting the police officer.

“Because of the accident, the rider suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot,” he added.

The victim’s body was taken to the Forensic Department at Tampin Hospital, with the post-mortem expected to happen at 10 AM.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Authorities are asking anyone who saw what happened to head over to the Tampin District Traffic Police Station or reach out to the investigating officer, Inspector Nurul Afiqah Aqwa Haslan, at 06-4412502 to help with the investigation.
