2 SPM Leavers Killed, 3 Others in Critical Condition After the Myvi They Were In Crashed in Kedah

Two best friends tragically lost their lives after the Perodua Myvi they were in lost control and crashed by the roadside in Tanjung Bendahara, Kedah.

According to Harian Metro, the crash also left three others injured. All five of them were 18-year-old students who had just finished their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exams.

The accident involved 5 teenagers

Kota Setar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad, stated that an initial investigation at the scene confirmed that the accident involved a Perodua Myvi carrying the five teenagers.

She said the car, which was coming from Jalan Alor Mengkudu, lost control and veered off the road, crashing into an electric pole, a coconut tree, and a bus stop at the scene.

“All passengers, including the driver, were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued by the fire department. Medical personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed that two of the victims, the front-left passenger and the back-left passenger, died on the spot,” she added.

The cause of the accident is still unknown

The two victims who lost their lives have been identified as Muhammad Dhani Arumi Mohd Azlan and Muhammad Danish Iqbal Mohd Niza.

Siti Nor Salawati said the bodies of the two victims were sent to HSB’s Forensic Department, while the other three, who were badly hurt, are being treated in the hospital’s Red Zone.

However, the police are still conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.

“We urge any witnesses of the incident to come forward and provide information at the Kota Setar Traffic Police Station or contact Traffic Investigation Officer Inspector Mohd Ifzam Mohd Zaini at 04-7321222 or 012-4043373 to assist in the investigation.”

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
