A simple Google search showed that there apparently isn’t much of an age-limit for zip-lining (also known as Flying Fox), as the weight of the guests are more important.
But it is still rather concerning to watch a woman carrying a small toddler with her as she zip-lines.
The Hulu Selangor District Police caught wind of this after a video of the woman with the toddler had gone viral online, and they also received a report on this incident.
“On November 13, 2022 (Sunday), the Kuala Kubu Police station received a police report regarding a viral video on social media showcasing a woman carrying out a dangerous extreme sport activity, Flying Fox, while holding a small child, ignoring the safety of the child and herself, that took place in Kuala Kubu Bharu,”
“The Hulu Selangor Police have opened an investigation paper under Section 31(1) of the Children’s Act (Amendment 2016) 2001, to carry out an investigation against the individual involved,” shared Superintendent Suffian Abdullah, the Hulu Selangor District Police Chief.
He also urged the public to come forward to the nearest police station should they have information related to this matter, that may help with their investigations.
Section 31(1)(a) of the Children’s Act (Amendment 2016) 2001 Amendment 2016 covers the offense of neglecting the safety of a child, and should the woman be found guilty, she may face a fine of not more than RM50,000 or a jail term of not more than 20 years, or both.
