The internet is a place where you can find anything and everything, including things that might not be true.
A statement, allegedly by the Saudi Arabia government, has recently been going viral on social media, in regards to Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang being banned from entering their country for having and spreading terrorist and extremist ideologies. This statement is fake.
According to a report by Astro Awani, the Islamic party shared that the spread of such allegations is proof that there are people who lack the ability to compete democratically, maturely and with dignity in the recent State Election (PRN) for the State Assembly (DUN).
“The fact is that Saudi Arabia’s official statements use the hijrah year, not Christian dates and Abdul Hadi is no longer the Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (as mentioned in the fake statement).”
“Come together with Perikatan Nasional (PN), let’s eliminate this kind of low-minded political culture and build a clean and stable country,” they shared.
It is best that we all avoid spreading false information on the internet that may cause confusion among the general public.
