As the clock struck 3 AM on Sunday (1 March), while many were preparing for sahur (the pre-dawn meal) or performing prayers, nearly 200 individuals were found occupying the streets of Seremban to perform dangerous stunts.
The chaotic scene was uncovered during “Ops Samseng Jalanan,” an operation led by Seremban District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Azahar Abdul Rahim.

“Others were preparing for sahur at 3 AM, but all of you were busy ‘merempit’ instead”
A total of 197 individuals were inspected, involving 167 vehicles, 153 of which were motorcycles. The authorities issued 183 summonses for various traffic offences, including riding without a license, using unregistered vehicles, and making illegal modifications.

Three riders were arrested for performing dangerous manoeuvres, such as lifting the front tyres of their motorcycles. One of the detainees was only 14 years old.
The trio has been detained for further investigation under the Road Transport Act 1987 and will be remanded for three days until 3 March.
Parental supervision and public safety
According to a statement by the Traffic Division of the Seremban District Police Headquarters and a report by Harian Metro, some spectators had even brought their children along to watch the illicit activities.
The police, comprising a team of six officers and 71 personnel, effectively ended the gathering by setting up roadblocks on all routes leading to Persiaran Senawang 1.

During the search, police also discovered an unopened bottle of liquor in the basket of one of the motorcycles. The individuals involved were provided with a brief opportunity to have their sahur at the police station before documentation proceeded.
ACP Azahar noted that this incident should serve as a wake-up call to parents to monitor their children’s activities more closely, especially those venturing out late at night and disrupting the peace of the community.
