LIMA 2023 just ended yesterday (May 27) and during the whole time that it was ongoing, the crowd favourite was definitely the Black Eagles aerobatics team from South Korea.

Every time the team finished their routine and exited from their aircraft, they would be greeted by high-pitched screams and a lot of cameras pointed in their direction.

The screams include calling them oppa (older brother in Korean) and ajussi (uncle in Korean), you can even see how big the crowd is in this video by Kosmo!.

Speaking to BERNAMA, the leader of the aerobatics team, Major Yang Eunho has said that they are very happy to be able to fly their Korean aircraft here in the Malaysian airspace.

“We’re so happy to see Malaysian faces who support us and we hope that they enjoyed our performance.”

The leader also said that they were very lucky that the weather was good and they were able to fly and give their best performance to Malaysians.

He hopes that they will have more chances to join future LIMA performances and if so, they will put their all to put out an even better performance.

Black Eagles had their maiden performance in LIMA in the year 2017. Other teams that performed aerobatics include Jupiter from Indonesia, August 1st (China), Russian Knights, and Al Fursan (UAE).

What do you think of their performance? We can’t wait to see them at future LIMAs!
