OKU Man Passes By Accident Scene in Kedah Only To Realise Victim Was His Wife Killed By Lorry

It was a heartbreaking sight when a husband wept looking at the body of his wife who died in the middle of the road.

The young mother who just gave birth seven months ago was killed by a lorry in an accident that took place in Kulim, Kedah at 1.30pm on Wednesday (17 September).

The victim’s husband just happened to pass by the incident area and when he saw who was lying on the road, he immediately ran to his wife’s body and hugged her while crying.

Kulim District Police Chief, Superintendent Azhar Hashim said that the victim identified as Nur Almass Zasmi, 23, was riding a Modenas Kriss motorcycle from the direction of Serdang to Sungai Ular while a trailer was coming from the opposite direction, reported Astro Awani.

He said that at the location of the incident, the victim is believed to have lost control of her motorcycle, skidded and fell on the road before the trailer hit the victim with the rear tire.

Azhar added that the victim who suffered serious head injuries died at the scene and her body was taken to Kulim Hospital for an autopsy.

The victim who works as a factory worker in Kulim, is a disabled person who is mute. She got married on 8 December 2018 to her husband who is also mute and was blessed with a baby girl who is now seven months old.

Azhar said the case would be investigated according to Section 41 (1) APJ 1987.
