We know Malaysians LOVE anything that is Japanese-related (because we do too), which is why we’re sharing this awesome Japanese arts and music festival with everyone!
Japan Summer Fest is an arts and music festival that combines Japanese culture with splashes of fun @ Sunway Lost World of Tambun on 17 August, 6 – 11PM.
If you’re a fan of cosplays, great Japanese music, and water theme parks (just to name a few), then you’d definitely want to check out the inaugural Japan Summer Fest.
1. The very best of Japan in the summer
Japan Summer Fest will be transforming the tropics of Lost World of Tambun into a Japanese festival, lined with merry matsuri-like decorations and activities perfect for the squad or family. Not to mention that the theme park will be closed for season pass and daily ticket holders, so you’ll have the WHOLE PARK all to yourselves~ 💦🌴
But first, mari admire your favourite manga and anime characters in person at Cosplay Paradise, where festival-goers are invited to cosplay and bring iconic characters to life. Whether you’re a lurking cosplay enthusiast or a serious coser, Cosplay Paradise will surely be a colourful event that’ll light up the park.
Plus, popular local illustrator, Bichimao, will be Japan Summer Fest’s guest artist, showing off around 100 new artworks in their exclusive Bichimao Installation, featuring Mao, everyone’s favourite animated neko, paw deep in shenanigans once again.
Or if you want something a little more exciting, there’ll be tons of family-friendly performances happening on stage as well, such as a fire show, singing show, and magic show.
Prefer to take part in more interactive activities? Then you’d want to check out the various matsuri games that’ll be available at Japan Summer Fest, including Daruma Otoshi, Senbonbiki and Kingyo-Sukui.
And once the kids are tucked in for the night, it’s time for the cool kids to come out and party at Japan Music Fest! Dance the night away with DJs flying in all the way from Japan to perform on stage, with a wide array of music genres that’ll satisfy every ear drum including Trouble Group, Ryukku-K, Fate Feather, DJ Yang² + Hayate and more.
2. Come for the festival, stay for the splash!
Aside from exclusive access to Japan Summer Fest, ticket holders will also get to breathe in the ethereal beauty of the mystical Lost World Hot Springs Night Park. The night brings to life various night-only attractions and activities that both adults and kids can enjoy, including:
