New Zealand is lifting all Covid-19 entry restrictions for travellers visiting the country. All travellers no longer need to be vaccinated or present proof of vaccination to enter New Zealand.
According to the Covid-19 update from the New Zealand government, no Covid-19 test or self-isolation is required once travellers arrive in the country. However, the government will provide free rapid antigen tests (RATs) at the airport and encourage you to test on the day you arrive and on day five or six.
Since Malaysia is listed under the visa waiver countries and territories, Malaysians will need to request a New Zealand electronic Travel Authority before travelling. It costs NZD $17(around RM46) on the application, and NZD $23(Around RM 63) if completed online.
Besides, all travellers are required to fill up the New Zealand Traveller Declaration which requires information like travel history, flight details, contact details and more.
If you test positive for Covid-19 while in New Zealand, you will need to isolate yourself for 7 days, source your own accommodation, and pay for the accommodation or any healthcare costs. Thus, the government strongly encourage travellers to get travel insurance.
