Najib’s health is deteriorating again, and this time, he has been admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) following fluctuations in his blood pressure.

Najib, who is currently on the trial for 1MDB case could not be present in court this morning. His defence lawyers informed the court about the absence today and tomorrow.

“Definitely today is off, Yang Arif. Definitely he cannot come, and I think certainly tomorrow as well”, said Shafee, the defence lawyers.

Shafee also said that tests will be conducted on Najib and it is unsure how long the process will take. His admission into the hospital has put the 1MDB trial on hold and both the prosecutors and defence lawyers are expected to be present at court tomorrow for a mention to reassess the case.

According to Shafee, there is also a possibility that Najib will be transferred to the National Health Institute (IJN) this evening.

However, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has since denied the possibility of the former Prime Minister being transferred to IJN. According to him, every prisoner has to undergo treatment at the government hospital based on the procedure that has been set.

“Prisoner are referred to the government hospital and for Najib’s case, the Health DG, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah decided to send him to HKL.”

Regardless, we wish Najib a speedy recovery! Stay tuned for more updates.
