We all know that women have sexual desires. However, it’s such a taboo topic, especially in conservative Muslim cultures. But, why though?
This has sometimes led to rather unfulfilling sex lives among newlywed Muslim couples, since just basic knowledge of the “mechanics” of sex isn’t enough.

But don’t worry peeps, because there is a new book that was just published recently that will give Muslim women a complete guide to having awesome sex. Yes, it exists!
The book named ‘Muslimah Sex Manual: A Halal Guide to Mind Blowing Sex’ was published by a Muslim woman who adopted the pen name, Umm Muladhat.
The author is an American-born psychology graduate. She says that she chose not to reveal her real name as she doesn’t want to be known as the “sex book aunty”.

According to Huffington Post, she said that she was inspired to write the book after a young Muslimah friend of hers wasn’t enjoying her intimate time with her new husband. Her friend told her miserably that their sex life was non-existent and that she hadn’t had an orgasm in six months.
Muladhat said,
“She had eagerly looked forward to marriage as a chance to finally indulge in all the physical intimacy she had postponed for the sake of Allah. But it wasn’t working.”
“Oh, she knew the mechanics. Insert penis into vagina. Climax. Withdraw. But she didn’t know how to make her husband yearn for her in bed. She didn’t know what he liked. She didn’t even know what she liked!”

That’s when Muladhat decided to help her by passing on the advice she gave the newlywed based on her own experience, tidbits she gleaned from friends, and tips she picked up from magazine articles.
With her help, her friend’s sex life improved dramatically and she was all smiles the next time Muladhat saw her. Proclaiming that Muladhat was a lifesaver, she begged her to write down her tips and pass it on to other uninformed Muslim girls so that they could fulfill themselves with their spouse in the bedroom.
Now, those tips have been published for the world to see! Muladhat said that her book emphasised halal sex between a Muslim husband and wife, which provides an incredibly detailed guide to various sexual experiences. She wants to empower women and says that “It is the wife’s right that her husband satisfy her sexually.” She’s right, you know!

In fact, the book has chapters that cover sexting, how to give a blowjob, stripping, shower sex, and so much more. However, according to Guardian, Muladhat has said that while she has received lots of positive feedback from Muslim organisations and even local Muslim leaders, some people did not see it that way.
She said they told her that, “it’s not needed, they learn everything from their mothers.” She replied to that statement by saying, “I doubt any mother speaks in as explicit detail as I have.”

The new author says that she is planning to release a follow-up book to this but targeted towards men, as she has received many emails from men asking her for advice to please their wives. So guys, remember to look out for this book when it’s published!
While the chances of the book making its way to local bookstores are slim, the book is available for purchase on Amazon for $14.39 (RM61.68).
