More than two weeks after the murder of Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh at a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur, her body is currently in the morgue of Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
As the investigations are still ongoing, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has yet to allow anyone to claim the body. The family of Iris, however, will not be coming to Malaysia to claim the body.

The family has entrusted representatives to come to Malaysia to claim the body and make funeral arrangements, with the company of bodyguards.
In a report by China Press, Iris’ friend and manager, Chris, said that the presence of the bodyguards is to ensure the safety of the representatives, and the entire process will be kept confidential.
Chris, who is still in close contact with Iris’ parents, said that they cannot make it to Malaysia due to health concerns.
“Her parents love her very much”
Chris also clarified that the absence of Iris’ parents from the country is not because they don’t love Iris, and in fact, they love her very much. Chris is merely worried about the parents’ health condition and safety.
“Unfortunately, she had one wish that could never be fulfilled, which was to find a good partner, get married, and have children.”
“I’ve always known that her biggest wish is to retire, settle down, get married, and have children.”

Local singer Namewee surrendered to the police at the Dang Wangi Police Station on 5 November at 1:10 AM, stressing that he would never run away. He was arrested in the hotel room, and PDRM found drugs on him, as well as testing positive for four substances.
Namewee is currently in a 6-day remand, which is expected to last until 10 November.
