M’sian With Asthma Writes An Open Letter to PMX Over Worsening Haze, Urges MOH to Protect Vulnerable Groups
A Malaysian man has penned an open letter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, urging the government to take immediate diplomatic action over the forest fires in Indonesia as the haze continues to worsen.
Taking to Threads, Aiman (@aimanzamir.wav) said he was speaking on behalf of people with asthma and other respiratory sensitivities, raising concerns about the impact of the haze on these vulnerable groups.

Aiman also urged the Ministry of Health (MOH) to issue clear guidelines and measures to protect people with asthma and other respiratory sensitivities, who are particularly vulnerable to the worsening haze.
In his open letter to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and MOH, he called for immediate diplomatic action over the forest fires in Indonesia and urged the government to put pressure on Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and other officials to acknowledge the situation and take responsibility.

He also shared a photo and videos of himself using a nebuliser to highlight the impact of the haze on people like him.
“On behalf of asthmatics and people with respiratory sensitivities, I urge our government to take immediate diplomatic action over the forest fires in Indonesia and for MOH to issue guidelines for people like us who cannot withstand this natural disaster,” he wrote.

“I still had my first asthma attack today”
Aiman shared that he had been taking extra precautions since the haze began, including wearing KF94 masks and staying indoors whenever possible.

“Just to be clear, I’m not a smoker or vape user, but I still had my first asthma attack today since this whole thing started. This haze is no joke, folks. It’s genuinely getting too much,” he wrote.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Aiman also reminded fellow Malaysians to wear masks and take precautions to protect themselves from the haze.
“Mask up with 3M N95 masks and get a doctor’s memo to work from home if your management hasn’t already implemented it. Stay safe, folks,” he said.
