The recent Anime Fest at a mall in PJ was a dream come true to most Anime fans but at the same time, it also received backlash.
Following the mixed reactions toward the man who dressed as a maid with an exposed back and chained neck, the man has reached out to Lobak Merah, who also posted about the incident to apologise for it and explained his stand.
“I’m sorry if I’ve made anyone uncomfortable with my outfit & poses. I was just posing as a cat,” the man apologised and explained.
He also revealed that he has been receiving negative comments and even death threats on his social media.
“I thought the outfit was not too sexy or revealing as only my collarbone was exposed.”
He also explained that his outfit was based on a goth maid with wolf’s nails & ears, which is an inspiration from Legoshi of Beastars.
“I’ve no intention to make my outfit kinky,” he reassured.
In the end, the man also said that he will do his best to tone down his outfit if he ever decides to cosplay again.
Recently, the man was criticised for his maid outfit at the Anime Fest in PJ. While some people think that his outfit may set a bad example for future generations, some think that he should be free to dress however he wants during cosplay.
Now that he has apologised, we hope that the matters will be resolved and this will not deter his will to attend future cosplay events.
