Malaysian singer Ernie Zakri, famous for her vocal prowess and capabilities recently received global recognition after getting featured on a huge billboard at New York Times Square in New York City in the United States.
The singer took to her official Instagram account to share a photo and a video of the billboard, which showcases her as Malaysia’s representative in the EQUAL campaign by the music streaming platform Spotify.
In the captions of both posts, Ernie asserted,
“Dreams do come true. Your girl is the EQUAL ambassador of the month. Mama, I’m on the NYC Billboard!”
Part of the streaming platform’s commitment to advancing gender equity in music, the EQUAL campaign aims to celebrate women pushing the envelope and inspiring the next generation of artists, producers and executives.
As reported by Utusan Malaysia, Ernie said that she’s really thrilled to be featured on the billboard at New York Times Square, saying that it is something beyond her wildest dream.
She added that the achievement motivates her to even work harder in the music industry. In fact, Ernie said that she’s in the midst of composing new songs and may release a new album by the end of the year.
