This is seriously outrageous and shameful behaviour! Bullying is never okay, but targeting a disabled person is even worse.
Two 17-year-old girls were remanded yesterday (March 20) for three days after they were found to be involved in a case of bullying and insulting the modesty of a disabled man, reported Berita Harian. A video went viral on Facebook after it was shared to a popular Terengganu Facebook group.
In the video, a group of teenagers were shown making fun of and laughing at a disabled man named ‘Pok Ya Cong Codei’, who is a street performer. The incident, which is believed to have happened in Pantai Batu Buruk, Terengganu, the teenagers were recording themselves bullying the man.
They had tied the man’s hands together then stripped down his pants before singeing his buttocks with a flame from a match while laughing gleefully in the seven-second video. As if that wasn’t enough, they even threw sand on the helpless man’s genitals. What’s wrong with those teens?
Netizens who saw the video were enraged and condemned the teens for their actions. After the rude teens left the scene, the disabled man went to the police station in Kuala Terengganu to lodge a report. He said that the incident had embarrassed him after the video went viral on social media.
Kuala Terengganu police chief, ACP Idris Abd Rafar confirmed the case and following their investigations, two girls were arrested.
Their mobile phones were seized to facilitate the investigations but police are still hunting for the two other teenage boys who were spotted at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998.
Those kids need to be taught a good lesson for their horrible behaviour!
