Although most of the population is able-bodied, it doesn’t mean we should neglect or make it even more difficult for people with disabilities.

There have been instances where people have gone above and beyond to make things more accessible for the disabled.

Recently, a Malaysian went viral after sharing a TikTok video of his modified car, which features a movable passenger seat.

The video showed that the car’s passenger seat had been modified to make it easier for his father to get into the car. It can fully come out of the car and even go back in whilst rotating it to the default seating position.

The elderly man’s son, who shared the video, explained that it costs around RM2,500 to RM3,000 for the modification (depending on the seller and condition).

“Plus, it is not easy to find the parts for it,” he added.

This is a good idea!

The video has gone viral on TikTok and currently has over 130,800 likes and 1.9 million views. Netizens took to the comments section to praise the son.

“I salute those who modify their cars like this. Other people modify it to look smart, lowered and fast.”

“This bro modified it to make it easier for his father to get into the car,” added the user.

Meanwhile, some users also expressed their desire to modify their cars the same way. “I am a Grab driver and have picked up several people with disabilities… I feel bad whenever they have to get into my car… hopefully, I can do the same (modifications).”

“If I have extra money, I will do it for my mother… this would make it easier to take her to the hospital,” said another user.
