A recent video has gone viral, showing a massive fire that broke out last night (8 February) at a home in Tanjung Lumpur, Kuantan, Pahang.
The incident was recorded by TikTok user @izzy2litt, who lives next door to the house that caught fire.

Massive fire breaks out at a home in Pahang
In the video, Izzy recalled that she and her sister were about to go to bed when they suddenly smelled smoke.
Panicked, she peeked out the window and saw their neighbour’s home engulfed in flames, prompting her to call the fire department immediately.
“We thought the neighbours at the back were burning trash. I called my mom to ask them to tell the neighbours not to burn trash near our room because the smoke was coming in and making our clothes stink,” she wrote.

She also recalled a setback her family faced last week when her father was hospitalised in the red zone due to a heart problem, and now they’re facing another challenge with their house being affected by the fire.
“My father had a panic attack and cried because he and my mom built our house from scratch, working day and night for three years. Some parts of my house were damaged, including the back of the house (near my room), the windows were shattered, and the air conditioner melted.
“I just wanted to share because it was traumatic seeing my father sick and almost fainting. I hope Allah eases everything. The house at the back was completely destroyed, but thankfully, only a small part of my house was damaged.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Izzy shared her belief that their neighbour’s home caught fire due to the use of too many extension cords, which caused a short circuit.
She added that, thankfully, there were no casualties, but recalled how her father almost fainted and nearly had a heart attack from the incident.
“The house is old and wooden, and a bit rundown. The tenants are foreigners, and about 2 to 3 families live there together. Since the house is old, there aren’t many electrical outlets, so they use a lot of extension cords.
“To anyone renting or looking for a home, make sure the place is suitable for your family, and don’t keep chaining extension cords together, as it’s very dangerous,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said firefighters acted quickly to stop the flames from spreading to nearby homes, although the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
