A recent story has caught the attention of many netizens after a woman shared her experience with her landlords, who “often showed up” at her rental home without any prior notice, with many urging her to move out.
In a Threads post by @msdumpling_0.0, she claimed that these privacy invasions left her feeling disrespected, as the landlords (a married couple) used their position to carry out random “spot checks.”

The user also shared that these unannounced visits would happen whether she was at home or at work, and she even claimed that the landlords once came to sleep in one of the empty rooms in the house.
“What can you do with homeowners who don’t know how to respect a tenant’s privacy? I’m renting a place, and the owners are a married couple. At first, everything was fine, honestly. But then they started acting weird.
“I’m renting a room, so another room was empty. They’d do ‘spot checks,’ supposedly, but I was home at the time. They just walked in whenever they felt like it, and luckily I heard them so I had time to put on my hijab. Nothing serious happened then, so I didn’t think much of it,” she wrote.

“She opened my room without asking because she thought I wasn’t home”
The user added that, as a hijab-wearing woman in the comfort of her own home, her landlords had even entered her room without knocking or asking first.
“They came to the house without informing me, and at that time I was hanging out my laundry. Mind you, both the husband and wife came in, so of course they saw all my undergarments. I was working at the time. Imagine the embarrassment.
“What were they thinking? I’M A WOMAN. I had just woken up, wearing inappropriate clothes because I live alone, and she opened my room door without asking. Her excuse was that she thought I wasn’t home. And her husband was there too.”
At the end of her post, she asked netizens for advice on what she should do next.
“What should I do? This is such a huge invasion of privacy. By the way, I’m keeping this short and simple because I don’t feel like going into all the details. What do you guys think?”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she shared a bit of advice for anyone who might go through the same experience:
“Always remember to read your agreement carefully and don’t let anyone take advantage of you, even if you’re just a tenant.”
