If you’re thinking about getting an influenza vaccination, especially for the older family members in your home, here’s where (and when) you can get it.
According to Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni, The National Influenza Immunisation Programme for senior citizens is set to begin next Tuesday (February 18).
“This vaccination is available for senior citizens aged 60 and above at selected clinics. We highly encourage the public to get this vaccination, especially the senior citizens,” Lukanisman said at a media conference yesterday (February 9).

How to book an appointment
Appointment bookings for the vaccination can be made through the MySejahtera application starting February 14.
In the meantime, Lukanisman said the private sector or state governments are welcome to implement this influenza vaccination program while the Ministry of Health (MOH) continues to upgrade healthcare services across the country.

The immunisation program is expected to benefit some 170,000 recipients nationwide
While the influenza outbreak is going rampant in Japan and parts of China, MOH, in a statement last month reminded Malaysians that respiratory diseases will continue to live with us, and all we can do is be cautious while facing the diseases.
While the immunisation program is targeted at senior citizens, the public is encouraged to get a dose of the vaccination against influenza for their well-being.
