Malaysian political activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Che GuBard, reportedly undertook a walking protest to the Johor Bahru Court titled ‘Demi Maruah Diri dan Kembalikan Perjuangan ke Tangan Rakyat’ (For the Sake of Self-Respect and Returning the Crusade to the People) recently.
He said the protest was due to the continuous prosecution against him under the Sedition Act. Che GuBard started his journey from Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, on Monday (8 December), but ended the protest upon reaching Muar, Johor.

Che GuBard ended the walking protest due to blisters
Taking to his Facebook page, Che GuBard announced that on day three (10 December) of his walking protest, he had to quit due to blisters on his feet. The political activist also sought the public’s forgiveness for quitting the mission.
He wrote, “I woke up this morning at the boarding house in Muar. Not only were my legs but my body was very sore. The journey was supposed to start at 7 AM. I tried to gather my strength until 11 AM, but I still couldn’t. I tried to continue, but I was helpless. My legs were getting worse, and my muscles were getting stiffer.”
“I beg for forgiveness. I can’t take it anymore. All of my friends who accompanied me also advised me to stop walking and go straight to Johor Bahru because tomorrow’s court case (11 December) is more important. When I get to Johor Bahru, I feel like I might have to go to a clinic.”
He ended his post by clarifying that the walking protest was never about showing off his bravery but to defend his dignity and to save religion, race and homeland (ABATA).
