With the current pandemic situation, students are forced into experiencing school through a screen.
Recently, a post went viral after a mother shared screenshots of an innocent but concerning conversation between 2 young children about wanting to “couple”.
It appears to be a conversation between 2 young kids who met through a mutual friend. They further introduce themselves and asked if each other is single.
The girl asked if he would like to get into a relationship in which he agrees. They further discuss about what nicknames to call each other and the girl requested for a photo of her “new boyfriend”.
Stumbling upon these screenshots, a horrified mother immediately took this matter to social media to warn other parents.
“Screenshots of a Standard 2 kid’s phone conversation today really opened my eyes to check on my own child’s phone… it’s horrifying to see kids in their 2nd standard these days…“, said the mother.
The children involved were believed to be in Standard 2. This info has not been verified though.
“This conversation is between lonely kids during the PDPR period… however it seems LIVELY in the Single and Taken WhatsApp group chat…”
“Parents… dont forget to check your kid’s phone…”
“WAKE UP CALL TO ALL PARENTS!!!”, the mother exclaimed.
Netizens were amused when the girl effortlessly asked her new beau if he loved her. And the reply by him was “I’m not sure, because just last year I went through a break up“. Followed by a sudden reply, “But I miss you“, said the girl.
When she asked if she could call him, he replies no and further states that if she calls again, he might get into trouble with the family and his dad might confiscate his phone forever.
The post collected over 12k shares and 4.6k comments!
“Oh my god… still so young. Its a good thing that in my child’s phone, there’s only the parents’ number, completely forbidden to have any others. He asked if he could add his cousin’s number and its still a no. It’s hopeless. As it’s not the age yet to be socialising online with others. Parents are his only WhatsApp buddies.”
“The spelling itself is all over the place, and they want to get into a relationship.”
“Main reason why phones are not bought for kids… If PDPR is going on, use my phone, husband or wife.”
“This is not funny man! Please wake up, parents. This is one of the many examples of diminishing morals.”
“Failure of parents in keeping an eye on their children… This is just to the extent of relationship… There are youngsters who get into toxic groups and mingle amongst toxic people, which is worse! Please do check your children’s phones when you’re free.”
A netizen shared that they are actually Form 1 kids
“They aren’t in standard 2 but are 13 years old, teenagers puppy love. Parents really need to monitor their kids, they need to have WhatsApp Web switched on to check their children’s phone without the phone itself”, suggests a netizen.
