A Malaysian woman was left shocked by the words of a nurse, who decided to voice her opinion over a child being brought for a medical check-up by only their father.
The woman, azeatulliana, who is the child’s mother, took to her Threads account to share how the nurse had allegedly told her child that she doesn’t love them, upon finding out that she skipped the medical check-up as per an agreement she and her husband had made with each other.

She wrote, “My husband and I had agreed, he would go for all of our child’s monthly appointments at the health clinic and I would take care of our child if they get warded. After that, my husband shared how the health clinic nurse had asked where our child’s mother was, to which my husband said that I was taking a day off.”
“After that, the nurse directly looked at my child and said, ‘That’s it, kid, your mother doesn’t love you’.”
Why should the responsibility fall on 1 person when it takes 2 to tango?
This led to a discussion about how mothers are expected to handle all childcare duties despite how times have changed.

“We (women) carried the child to the clinic for 9 months. Once they’re out, it’s their father’s turn to bring them (for health check ups) from when they’re a newborn until they’re grown. The nurse is jealous!”

“It’s exhausting if the wife has to take leave for everything. Because, not all companies understand the duties of a mother. If it’s for a check up, plus the kid is sick and needs to be warded, if it’s (the wives) taking leave for all of it, single people will say we’re always taking leave using the excuse of having a kid.”
“So, it’s a win-win situation to just take turns with the husband.”
