An elderly woman was allegedly left abandoned at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), leaving her feeling heartbroken.

Malaysian philanthropist, Kuan Chee Heng (better known as Uncle Kentang), took to his Facebook page to share the woman’s heartbreaking situation.

He wrote, “Soh Swee Yong is 80 years old. She told me she is from Setapak Jaya, and she has brothers and sisters. But no one visited her since she was admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital. She felt down, disappointed and very sad.”

“She asked me where I would send her. If she is a Puan Sri or Datin Seri, many will have come and visited her. But, she is just Swee Yong and therefore, no one cares.”

Thankfully, Uncle Kentang cares.

He has since arranged for her to be placed in a welfare home and urged her family members to spend time with her while they still can.

“She is being sent to a home run by an Indian NGO in Batu Caves. Most probably, she will end her journey of life there,”

“For family members who still have some heart and wish to see her for the last time, kindly get this address. As our country progresses into an old, aged nation, we will see more of these kinds of cases. Be prepared,” he added.

The elderly woman is currently living at the Pusat Jagaan Orang Tua Cahaya Maju in Taman Sri Melati, Batu Caves, Selangor, which is run by Mr Saravanan, who can be contacted at 018-2623023.
